In 1993, Scott joined Kieckhafer, Schiffer & Company LLP with a desire to combine technical expertise with a focus on client service. Scott brings strong multistate and international tax experience, including experience in the structuring of both inbound and outbound business operations. He works extensively with clients in merger and acquisition transactions and has been involved in numerous due diligence engagements. He has helped several companies as an outsourced Chief Financial Officer overseeing client financial efforts with an emphasis on streamlining procedures and overall improvement of systems in order to enhance profitability. Scott assists companies in obtaining various sources of financial capital to meet venture, acquisition, working capital and real estate funding requirements.
Scott has over twenty-five years of experience in assisting closely held and publicly owned businesses in all phases of the business life cycle. Scott works with clients in choosing appropriate business structures, compensation structuring, family wealth planning and many other strategic planning needs.
Scott, a native of Maryland, moved to Southern California after receiving his MBA from the University of Colorado in 1985. After graduation he joined the Orange County office of Arthur Andersen LLP. and was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant. During his eight years at Arthur Andersen, Scott actively assisted in servicing the needs of mid-market business and their owners. He also gained significant experience in real estate and international business specialties.
In an effort to offer full financial advisory service to his clients, Scott obtained licensure as a Registered Securities Broker (NASD Series 7 and 63). He is also a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Scott spends his time away from the office at home in Irvine with his wife Denise and their two sons. The family is active in the community and their children’s school.
