Brooke Saulsbury joined Kieckhafer Schiffer & Company, LLP, in January 2010 and has been an active member of the firm's Expatriate Tax practice since January 2011. Her primary focus at KS&Co for the past several years has been on expatriate tax compliance and cross-border planning for international assignees. During her tenure with the firm, she has had the opportunity to work directly with supervisors that have 10+ years of experience in the field.

  • Brooke's experience includes:
  • Preparation and review of U.S. and state tax returns (including, expatriate employees in a broad range of industries subject to different company policies);
  • Preparation and review of implemented tax equalization calculations based on company standards (equalization/protection);
  • Hypothetical tax calculations;
  • Cross-border tax cost estimates for accruals and new assignment planning;
  • Assistance with resolving individual IRS and state income tax controversies;
  • Liaising with company personnel with expatriate programs on international payroll/HR matters;
  • Coordinating with Foreign Service Providers on income reporting and tax positions; and
  • Review of payrolls in capturing all assignment benefits, gross-up calculations, and shadow payroll set-ups.

Brooke graduated cum laude and received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Chapman University – Orange, California. In her spare time, she enjoys living out her avid fandom by attending Portland Trailblazer games as much as possible with her grandparents, whom are season ticket holders.
